EDENWALD ROOTS • WORLDWIDE WISDOM

Life gave the lessons.
We share the wisdom.

A worldwide community where members and affiliates own their street credentials by sharing what they lived through, witnessed or learned—and the wisdom they carried forward.

AFFILIATED WITH RESILIENT COMMUNITIES WORLDWIDE

The world is the classroom.

Edenwald University stands with tough communities and challenging environments everywhere—from Jacksonville, Florida to Jasper, Wyoming, from the Bronx to communities across the world. Affiliation comes from lived experience and street wisdom, not a particular ZIP code.

EXPERIENCED

I lived through it

Tell the true story of an everyday struggle—hunger, stretching a meal, housing pressure, family responsibility, a difficult choice, a breakthrough or a lesson from your own life.

WITNESSED

I saw it happen

Share what you observed, what it revealed and what others can learn from the situation.

HEARD & LEARNED

The story stayed with me

Pass along a meaningful account responsibly, clearly identifying it as something you heard rather than witnessed.

Streetwise means responsible.

Protect private information, obtain permission before identifying others, distinguish facts from rumors, and never submit threats, harassment, graphic exploitation or instructions for wrongdoing.

Rice & Bean Survival Bowl

Cook beans until tender. Add rice and frozen vegetables. Season with anything available. Make a large batch and portion it.

02

Egg Fried Rice

Use cold leftover rice, one egg and a handful of vegetables. Fry together in a lightly oiled pan.

03

Sardines Two Ways

Serve half a can over rice and vegetables, or mash sardines onto toast. Add pepper, vinegar or hot sauce if available.

04

Breakfast That Holds You

Cook oats with water. Add a spoon of peanut butter for calories, flavor and staying power.

05

The Mayo Sandwich Memory

When bread and mayonnaise were what the cupboard held, that meal helped someone get through the day. Add an egg, sardines or vegetables when available.

Dollar-Store Survival Guide

Compare unit prices

A $1.25 package is not automatically cheapest. Compare ounces, servings and the supermarket price before buying.

Shop the list, not the aisle

Plan three meals that reuse the same staples. Buy food first; avoid snacks and impulse items until the meal plan is covered.

Use digital savings carefully

Dollar General offers digital coupons and cash-back offers through myDG. Clip only deals for items already on your list.

Check every price

Dollar Tree now carries multiple price points, including items above $1.25. Read shelf labels before placing an item in the basket.

Choose flexible staples

Rice, beans, oats, eggs, bread, peanut butter, canned fish and frozen vegetables can cross several meals.

Do the checkout math

Keep a running total on your phone, include sales tax where applicable and leave a small buffer.

Needing help is not failure.

A $20 basket is an emergency stretch—not a complete long-term nutrition plan.

Sometimes the lesson began with an empty cupboard. Survival became the skill. Experience became the credential. Wisdom is what we share.
